The West African Examinations Council, a sub-regional organisation responsible for the conduct of a various examinations in the English-speaking West African countries, invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions at its Ghana National Office.



Specific Duties and Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be required to perform the following duties among others:

  • Establishing a reliable supply and logistics system
  • Managing and coordinating activities of the Stores Department to ensure effective and efficient service delivery
  • Rationalising of Inventory while anticipating and avoiding supply shortages
  • Instituting an effective stores system to ensure accurate receipts, issues and store keeping
  • Preparing stock levels regularly for guidance of management
  • Undertaking annual stock count and submit report to management
  • Supervising the operations of the Stores department.

Eligibility Criteria


Applicants must hold a good University degree (at least Second class, Lower Division) and be a member of good standing of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS).


Applicants must have at least ten (10) years post qualification experience in Stores, Materials or Procurement.

Applicants must be well-versed in the provisions of the Public Procurement Act, 2003 (Act 663) and have a working knowledge of the Financial Administration Act, 2003 (Act 654) and other related legislation.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

As an Application Programmer, you will be responsible for performing the following duties among others:

  • Designing and developing innovative and practical applications/software
  • Software testing, installing, evaluating and maintaining applications/software
  • Writing documentation and operating manuals
  • Assisting in application development projects
  • Providing support to the senior programmers
  • Providing training and support to the application users

Applicants should also have in addition the following programmer skills:

  • General programming skills
  • Algorithm design
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Paying attention to details


Interested applicant must have a Bachelor of Science degree (at least Second Class Honours, Lower Division) in Computer Science from a recognised university.


Applicants must have must at least three (3) years post-qualification experience in addition to the following:

  • Microsoft Office applications development and SQL Server
  • Programming with Visual Basic
  • Networking
  • Web Design
  • Knowledge in COBOL programming will be an added advantage
