DISCIPLINARY MEASURES BY THE
COUNCIL
DISCIPLINARY MEASURES BY THE COUNCIL
In order to maintain its high
standards, the Council has never hesitated to take
disciplinary action against candidates as well as other
people who indulge in examination malpractices.
(1)
Rules on Malpractices
The Council has evolved rules
which cover the following offences / malpractices among
others:
(a) Bringing foreign materials
into the examination halls
(b) Irregular activities
inside or outside the examination halls (e.g. stealing
scripts of other candidates, refusing to submit script,
tearing part of answer booklet/question paper).

(c) Collusion
(d) Impersonation
(e) Leakage
(f) Mass Cheating
(g) Insult/Assault on
Supervisors or Invigilators.
(2) Penalties
Depending on which rules are
infringed the following penalties may be applied:
(a) Cancellation of individual
subject results;
(b) Cancellation of entire
results;
(c) Barring of candidate(s) from
all examinations conducted by the WAEC for a specified
period of time.
(d) Prosecution at the Courts
of Law;
(e) De-recognition of
examination centres for a period of time.
(f) Fines ranging from GH¢
600.00 to GH¢ 2400.00
